Cool "Blanket" Fort

I have made them.

My kids have made them.

Forts.

Out of couch cushions.

Mainly, out of a blanket over the table or between 2 chairs.

This is cute.

Dia De Los Muertos Cats

I found these on Facebook, but there was no information on them.

They look to be painted fabric, but that is just my best guess.

Mark Newport

Mark Newport has an exhibit "In Action" of his eight hand-knit superhero inspired costumes. He is a Detroit area artist and educator. Each costume is life-size and wearable. The installation "In Action" looks at what heroes are and how they protect people.

Free Beaded Crochet Bag

I have been looking for a pattern for a One-necktie purse.

I didn't realize how much fabric is used for one necktie!

Before.

After ripping out all the seams. THIS is just one end!

I found finished ones on etsy for ones that I like, but not the pattern.

While I was browsing for a pattern, or at least a tute to eyeball, I found this.

Cute!

Sweater Scrap Sewing

Munchkin loved the sweater I used for the stocking. In fact she wanted one. Not the stocking, a ladybug sweater.

I explained to her it was not a whole sweater, and that it was unfinished. She was fine with it, but said she really liked the ladybugs.

SO...I made her a little i-pod cozy out of one of the scrap pieces. (she has my old Nano.)

Since I made something for her, I made a little funny one for the Spawnling. She had a good laugh over it.

Repurposed Sweater Stocking

Itty Bitty just celebrated her first Christmas, not that she knew it. Sure, she loved the lights and the excitement of the day, but she really didn't know what it was all about.

However unaware she was, she needed her first stocking.

I finally started sewing on my machine.

Let me tell you, if I knew how easy it was to work, I would have been sewing all this time.

I had an adorable children's sweater. No, actually, I had a part of a sweater that I am glad I kept. It was found in the bag of yarn and needles from the recycling center.

Also in the bag was the pattern, but it was way, way beyond my skill level.

Perfect for a baby stocking.

Santa gave her a nice surprise!
